VT in a pacemaker patient

Trace category:
ECG
Device/Field:
PM
Company:
Abbott

88 year old patient known with severe aortic stenosis and a Saint Jude Assurity VVI-R pacemaker, was admitted to the coroanry care unit with respiratory insufficiency because of left-sided pneumonia.

He developed a monomorphic ventricular tachycardia which which was poorly tolerated but he remained concious with a blood pressure of 130 over 80 mmHg.

What is happening in this tracing?

Good morning,

I agree to Tamara, this looks like ATP to terminate VT

IIndeed ATP. The tracing shows three rhythms: 1) a monomorphic VT around 150 bpm, and then 2) temporary pacing at 170 bpm (which can be considered as "manual ATP") which terminates the VT, followed by 3) a pacemaker rhythm at the end of the tracing.
